John X. Cordoba, DDS, MS
Dr. John Cordoba has been in orthodontic practice since 1991. He received his undergraduate degree Cum Laude from Wittenberg University in Ohio and then attended Loyola University School of Dentistry in Chicago, graduating Cum Laude with his DDS degree. While in dental school, he received the Loyola Research Grant for scientific research and was elected for membership into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Society.

Dr. Cordoba has special insight into general dentistry. Before continuing on to specialty training, he completed a general practice residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., and also practiced as a dentist.		 John X. Cordoba
After two years of further study, he completed his orthodontic residency at Northwestern University in Chicago and received his Masters of Science degree for research involving cleft lip and palate.

Dr. Cordoba is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and is a member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics. Only 25% of orthodontist in the United States are board certified. Furthermore, he was asked by the board to be one of the only ten orthodontists in the country to present a case at the American Association of Orthodontists annual meeting.

A native of Chicago, Dr. Cordoba moved to the Orlando area after finishing his orthodontic training. He is currently an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Florida Association of Orthodontists.  He has also served on the board of The Dental Society of Greater Orlando.  Dr. Cordoba and his wife, Sophia, who is a general dentist, enjoy fishing, boating, traveling and, most of all, spending time with their sons, Johnny and Alexander.

Orlando Magazine recently selected Dr. Cordoba as one of the “Best Orthodontists in the Orlando Area.”

SPECIALIST IN ORTHODONTICS
Dr. Cordoba practices orthodontics exclusively. An orthodontist is a specialist who has attended a graduate program requiring two or more years of full-time study exclusively in orthodontics following dental school. Dr. Cordoba participates in the development of the latest orthodontic materials and techniques through his affiliation with one of the largest orthodontic manufacturers, keeping him on the cutting edge of current orthodontic treatment.

Cordoba Orthodontics offers orthodontic treatment for children and adults. Cases involving early development (skeletal) problems, oral habits, crowding and spacing, overjets and underbites, extra teeth and missing teeth are all treated. We use the latest styles of braces including self-ligating, ceramic, gold, and lingual (including i-Braces).  Self-ligating braces are an important advance in the field of orthodontics.  Dr. Cordoba uses passive self-ligating brackets called the Damon system. This type of braces allows the teeth to move quicker and more comfortably which means shorter treatment times and less discomfort.

Dr. Cordoba is also certified to provide Invisalign treatment where tooth movement is accomplished without visible fixed braces.
